Patience remains a virtue for Yeng Guiao in NLEX
"It's a work in progress. But we can't wait too long." --- Yeng Guiao on NLEX.
In the second conference of his reign in NLEX, the problem remains the same for Yeng Guiao.
While he's trying to preach patience as his team continues to figure itself out, the fieary mentor obviously does not want to wait too long to find success.
And with the Road Warriors starting the 2017 Commissioner's Cup already down 0-2 in the standings, things are once again starting to heat up in the NLEX camp.
"We just need to be patient. We were in the game [vs. Meralco] for three quarters and then the usual thing happens. We collapsed in the fourth quarter, so we still have to find the cure for that," Guiao said as his team lost another sorry decision to the Bolts Sunday, two days after practically losing the same way to his former team Rain or Shine.
"Problema, we're hoping to improve every game [but] that's not happening. So again, we just have to go back and evaluate and re-think and you know, it's a work in progress. But we can't wait too long," Guiao said.
After they end up with a status quo in the offseason in terms of trades, Guiao once again floated the idea that the team might explore the market for some much-needed help.
"Kailangan siguro may mga drastic measures that we should take in the next few weeks. So we'll see how it comes together," Guiao said.
But if no there's no deal to make, Guiao added that NLEX will continue to try to do with what it currently has.
"I don't want to trade for the sake of trading eh. It's either may upgrade ka or at least parehas yung material. Pero kung walang mag-trade and hindi rin parehas ang material, why trade?" he said.
"We're not stopping at that, we will keep on putting the pieces together and try to improve the team," Guiao added.
