Ben Mbala has insane 45-point, 17-rebound 'Flu Game'
Ben Mbala is flu game sick.
Each game, reigning UAAP Most Valuable Player Ben Mbala is building upon the legend of his basketball career.
You may remember his "life-changing" alley-oop slam against Ateneo back in October, and general domination in the UAAP, but he may have just added another story to his already impeccable journey as a star.
Mbala went for an insane 45-point, 17-rebound performance to help keep the DLSU Green Archers' playoff hopes alive with a 93-77 win against the Letran Knights in the FilOil Flying V Preseason Tournament.
And as if that wasn't impressive enough, minutes after the game ended, Big Ben tweeted this:
I guess this was my kind of flu game .Now i need to rest and get better 😷— thekidfromCameroon (@benmbala) June 16, 2017
That's right, Mbala dropped 45 points and pulled down 17 rebounds against the 2015 NCAA champions all while suffering from some kind of sickness.
Mbala addressed the "flu game" similarities himself, 20 years almost to the day after Michael Jordan's Flu Game in Game 5 of the 1997 NBA Finals, which happened in June 11 (June 12 PHL time)
We know Mbala can ball, but this puts him right up there.
