Wright is still PBA's top rookie stats-wise
Fil-Canadian sniper Matthew Wright leads the PBA Rookie of the Year race for 2017 and its not even close.

Turns out the mystery guy from the Gilas cadets might turn out to be the best.

Fil-Canadian sniper Matthew Wright leads the PBA Rookie of the Year race for 2017 and its not even close.

Phoenix's prized recruit averaged 26.07 statistical points for the season, up almost four points from RR Pogoy's 22.29 SPs.

Wright was a beast particularly in the Philippine Cup, averaging 30.92 SPs. He was also right up there in the Commissioner's Cup and Governors' Cup despite only playing a combined 14 games.

After Wright and Pogoy, Star Hotshot Jio Jalalon is only in the mix for Rookie of the Year, averaging 21.50 SPs for the season while Ginebra's Kevin Ferrer is a far fourth at 15.64 SPs.

Kia's Reden Celda complete the top 5 with 13.99 statistical points.
