Aces add Danny I, Coach E, and TDLC to sideline staff
Head coach Alex Compton confirmed Tuesday that Eric Altamirano, Danny Ildefonso, and Tony dela Cruz will officially join his team at the sidelines as the Aces look to rebound from a down year.

After losing assistant coaches Louie Alas and Topex Robinson to the Phoenix Fuel Masters, the Alaska finally made moves to restore its staff for the upcoming 43rd PBA Season.

Head coach Alex Compton confirmed Tuesday that Eric Altamirano, Danny Ildefonso, and Tony dela Cruz will officially join his team at the sidelines as the Aces look to rebound from a down year.

Alaska only made the playoffs once last season and at one point, the team lost 14 straight games, a franchise record.

Altamirano is easily the biggest name of the three as the former UAAP champion mentor with the NU Bulldogs makes his return to the pros.

"I am really excited about the new coaches we have added to our coaching staff. Coach Eric Altamirano is a proven winner at every single level he has coached at including the PBA. Alaska gets a veteran coach with tremendous experience and character in Coach Eric, truly a man of excellence," Compton said.

The Aces will also add two decorated players in their staff with Ildefonso a two-time league MVP and dela Cruz a mainstay in the Alaska organization before he retired at the end of last season.

"Tony dela Cruz has always been one of the smartest players in the PBA and he knows the ins and outs of our system as well as any of our coaches," Compton said on his former team captain.

"Danny Ildefonso is both one of the best players and best men to ever have played in the PBA. He has always had a tremendous work ethic and has detailed knowledge on how to play the game as a big man. He will surely have a tremendous impact on the development of our big men," he added.
