Pinoy boxing fans in the United States will get a chance to check out some up-and-coming FIlipino talent, as 21-year old lightweight Romero Duno will be making his US debut, Friday night (Saturday morning, Manila time) against unbeaten American Christian Gonzales for the vacant WBC Youth Intercontinental Title at the Belasco Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
A native of Davao Del Norte, Duno has been putting in the work with former WBC light flyweight world champion Rodel Mayol at the world famous Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles, long-time home to eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao.
Duno, who boasts a 12-1 professional record, will be the main event of the LA Fight Club card organized by Oscar Dela Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions.
Nicknamed "Ruthless", eleven of Duno's 12 professional wins have come via knockout, and he'll be riding a three-fight winning streak into LA.
His lone defeat came in a unanimous decision loss to Mikhail Alexeev in Russia.
