DepEd, Antique ink agreement for 2017 Palarong Pambansa

The future of Philippine sports will call Antique their home from April 23 to 29 when the 2017 Palarong Pambansa heads to the Western Visayan province for the first time.
After months of planning, the Department of Education and the Provincial Government of Antique have inked the memorandum of agreement for the sporting event's 60th installment.
DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones reminded everyone of the importance of fun and goodwill that should be the focus of the summer games.
Meanwhile, Antique Governor Rhodora Cadiao expressed her gratitude for the Philippine Sports Commission's trust and confidence in their "small province" to host the annual sporting event.
DepEd has also assured all participants that all preparations are underway including heigtened security with the local provincial PNP on high alert and will be escorting all the buses and securing all the venues and athletes quarters.
Cadiao added that no major facililties need to be built, and some minor cosmetic improvements to the already existing venues would suffice.
