PSC partners with nutritional company to support athletes
During the official MOA signing Wednesday, USANA Health Sciences, through its Philippine subsidiary UHS Essential Health Phils. INC., will be partnering with the PSC to support the health improvement of around 300 national athletes.

In an effort to provide athletes better nutrition and all-around health improvement, the Philippine Sports Commission-Philippine Sports Institute (PSC-PSI) has forged a partnership with global nutrional company USANA.

During the official MOA signing Wednesday, USANA Health Sciences, through its Philippine subsidiary UHS Essential Health Phils. INC., will be partnering with the PSC to support the health improvement of around 300 national athletes.

The agreement will initially last for two years and athletes who played in the Olympics, Asian Games, and medal winners from the Southeast Asian Games will be given priority. Some Class A, B, and C athletes are also part of the deal.

"The timing of this partnership with USANA could not have been more perfect. We are in full swing with our preparations for the upcoming international competitions and adding USANA's high-quality nutritional supplements to our athlete's health program will help their training while reaching optimal health as well," PSC Chairman William "Butch" Ramirez said.

As part of the agreement, USANA will provide three main products for Philippine national team players: the USANA Essentials™, CoQuinone®30, and Procosa®.

The Essentials is the all-around supplement while the CoQuinone 30 focuses on energy on the cellular level which should improve the athletes in terms of sound muscle and nerve functions as well as cardiovascular health. The Procosa promotes optimal immune and inflammatory response to help athletes recover better after training.

In addition to supporting 300 new national athletes, USANA has previously worked with 2016 Rio Olympics silver medalist Hidilyn Diaz as well as Philippine Azkals standout Misagh Bahadoran. Former Gilas Pilipinas forward JC Intal has also been part of USANA's list of athletes.
