2017 Draft picks: 23
2016-17 record: 51-31, second in the Atlantic division, lost in conference semifinals to CLE

Areas of Strength

The Raptors went all-in at the trade deadline, making moves to acquire Serge Ibaka and PJ Tucker and bolster their chances in the Eastern Conference playoffs. Unfortunately, after a second-round exit, they will have an eventful offseason as they decide how best to move forward. Guard DeMar DeRozan finished third-team All-NBA and should be a Raptors cornerstone for years to come.

Needs Work

DeRozan's backcourt mate Kyle Lowry will hit free agency this summer, along with Ibaka and Tucker, and the Raptors now have to decide how they want to build their roster and budget their money going forward.

Two Stats That Matter

8.8 -- Three-point shots made per game last season by the Raptors, which was twenty-first in the NBA. As the league continues moving to a pace-and-space model, Toronto is still in the bottom third of the NBA when it comes to scoring from deep.

1, 1, 1, 2 -- Toronto's finish in the Atlantic Division the last four seasons. After being on top for a few years, Boston has become the best team in the Division. Is Toronto's window with this current roster still as open as before, or is it starting to close?

The Way to Go

“While there is little hope at No. 23 of landing immediate help at power forward to protect against the departure of free agents Serge Ibaka and/or Patrick Patterson, the Raptors will have options at the position. Two or all three among the group of Ivan Rabb, Isaiah Hartenstein and T.J. Leaf could be on the board, or maybe concerns over Harry Giles’ injury history push him down the board.” - Scott Howard-Cooper, NBA.com
