SBC paints 92nd NCAA red, cops repeat general championship
San Beda College captured its second straight NCAA general championship.
San Beda College snatched its second straight seniors and juniors general championships after a dominating performance from different fronts in Season 92 of the NCAA.
The Mendiola-based squad will formally accept the title on Thursday during the cheerleading competition at the MOA Arena as the successful staging of the season hosted by San Beda come to a close. All winners from different sports will also be feted in a short awarding ceremony.
San Beda bested College of St. Benilde by annexing titles in seniors basketball, chess, men’s and women’s swimming, women’s table tennis, men’s taekwondo, football, women’s soft tennis and men’s soft tennis (demo sports).
The school also owned juniors swimming and football with several runner up finishes including basketball and chess to upend its closest pursuers Letran and De La Salle-Greenhills.
CSB, which won the general championship back in Season 89 and 90, had golden finishes in men’s table tennis, women’s taekwondo, men’s volleyball, men’s lawn tennis and women’s lawn tennis (demo sports).
Meanwhile, Arellano University topped women’s badminton, seniors track and field, and women’s volleyball; Perpetual Help had the top podium finish in men’s beach volleyball; San Sebastian College plucked gold in women’s beach volleyball while Letran conquered men’s badminton.
Other junior top winners are Arellano (table tennis, taekwondo, lawn tennis), Emilio Aguinaldo College (beach volleyball, track and field), Letran (chess, badminton), Perpetual (volleyball) and Mapua (basketball).
