Chiefs without Salado: Mahirap, nawala ang konduktor
"Mahirap, sabi nga nila nawala ang konduktor, puro pasahero na lang ang nandoon," head coach Jerry Codinera said.

To say that Kent Salado's injury is a big blow to the Arellano Chiefs would be an understatement.

Salado is out at least a month after suffering an MCL tear that doesn't require surgery according to head coach Jerry Codinera.

The timing couldn't be any worse as the Chiefs scramble to keep their playoff hopes alive in the NCAA Season 93 men's basketball tournament.

"Mahirap, sabi nga nila nawala ang konduktor, puro pasahero na lang ang nandoon," head coach Jerry Codinera said.

Despite missing Salado's 19.1 points, 5.0 assists, 3.8 rebonds, and 1.3 steals per game, Arellano is somehow finding ways to win.

The Chiefs beat Perpetual Thursday for their third straight victory, keeping their Final Four dreams alive.

It was a big win for a team that's missing its biggest star.

"Iniisip ko lang po na offer na lang din tong laro kay Salado kasi nga malungkot po pag wala si Salado eh," Levi Dela Cruz said, who took over the lead guard spot with Kent on the sidelines.

He finished with 11 points, four rebounds, and four assists against the Altas in 30 minutes of play.

"Parang nanghihina po kami lahat. Talagang nag-step up na lang din kami, yung mga ginagawa ni Kent pinunan na lang namin hanggang sa abot ng makakaya namin," he added.

With the Chiefs giving themselves a chance with a depleted lineup, Codinera hopes that his team can continue to come through even without Salado.

"New found confidence na rin yun na they can win without him," he said.
