Defending champion Red Lions turn their attention to undefeated Pirates

Champion Lions turn their attention to undefeated Pirates
With a highly-anticipated Finals set after the Red Lions' five-point decision over San Sebastian in the stepladder semis Tuesday, the champs are ready to go to take on their undefeated challengers.

The Red Lions may have missed out on a playoff bonus for the first time in over a decade but the fact remains that the defending NCAA Champions are still a dominant team.

The fact remains as well that one team has been more dominant than San Beda so far in Season 93.

Yep, we're talking about those Pirates from Lyceum.

With a highly-anticipated Finals set after the Red Lions' five-point decision over San Sebastian in the stepladder semis Tuesday, the champs are ready to go to take on their undefeated challengers.

"We came out with a win today, and yes we're happy," head coach Boyet Fernandez said.

"But we still have a job to do on Friday [for Game 1 of the Finals]. I know we were beaten by LPU fair and square, we lost those two games but I still trust my players and I know they'll come up big," he added.

Vulnerable for the first time in its dynasty, a lot of people have cast their doubts on whether or not San Beda can actually stop Lyceum's perfect season.

However, the Red Lions remain confident in themselves. Their the champs after all.

"We lost against Lyceum and I know people have been doubting us," Fernandez said.

"But the players believe in themselves. Sabi nila, coach we lost the game against LPU but just give us your trust. I gave them my trust and they gave me this day," he added.
