Save yourself from trying to find a scapegoat in Lyceum's stunning loss in Game 1 of the NCAA Season 93 Finals against San Beda.

Head coach Topex Robinson has taken responsibility of the Pirates' 87-94 defeat at tha hands of the Red Lions Friday, the team's first this year after racking up 18 straight wins in the elimination round all the way to an automatic Finals appearance, a first in school history.

"It's my fault," Robinson said.

"I made some bad decisions, bad coaching. I'll try to lead them better come Game 2. My players did well, I'm sorry it's my fault. I'll be a better coach next game," he added.

Despite being rookies on such a grand stage, the Pirates didn't look like first-timers in Game 1 of the best-of-3 championship series as the previously-undefeated challengers went toe-to-toe with the Red Lions.

Lyceum even took a 12-point lead in the second half only to fall to San Beda's superior Finals experience in the end game.

With that being said, Robinson mentioned that his Pirates can no longer use that excuse for Game 2 and, if necessary, in Game 3.

"I told the players nga na 'oh hindi na tayo bago sa championship ah' so at least, there's no more excuse na we're new to this," coach Topex said.

Still, the players did well enough to make San Beda earn its Game 1 victory and Robinson says he's all to blame for Lyceum's stunning loss, the team's first this season.

"It's my fault. I will do a better job un coaching these kids. San Beda really played well, they are really the champions. You have to grind it out with them," he said.
