Lady Warriors eye fifth straight win
Pocari Sweat tries to extend its winning streak to five straight.
Pocari Sweat hopes to extend its sizzling run to five as the Lady Warriors try to make a repeat over the Perlas Spikers Tuesday in the inaugural Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
After losing its first two games, Pocari Sweat stormed past their next four opponents to climb up the standings with a 4-2 win-loss record.
The Lady Warriors are looking to reassert their mastery over the same rival they defeated in straight sets, 25-19, 25-19, 25-19, last May 9.
Game time is at 6:00 p.m. and will air via livestream.
Myla Pablo and Elaine Kasilag led Pocari Sweat in a walk in the park demolition of the undermanned Power Smashers, 25-21, 25-20, 20-16, Saturday.
“Going to our training (today) practice pa rin kami ng service receive namin, doon talaga kami madaming pagkakamali,” said Pocari Sweat coach Rommel Abella, who will also bank on Cai Nepomuceno, Jeanette Panaga, Jessey De Leon and veteran libero Mel Gohing.
But Perlas will be a tougher customer this time.
The Spikers handed BaliPure its first loss last Saturday in a morale-boosting 22-25, 22-25, 25-22, 25-16, 15-12, win behind the efforts of Dzi Gervacio, Amy Ahomiro and seasoned playmaker Jem Ferrer.
Perlas holds a 3-2 slate.
Meanwhile, unbeaten teams Philippine Army (2-0) and Cignal (2-0) collide in the men’s division at 1:00 p.m.
