Volcanoes come up short against Sri Lanka in ARC Division I
Sri Lanka claims the Asian Rugby Championship Division I title

The Philippine Volcanoes could not complete the comeback this time as they fell to Sri Lanka in the Asian Rugby Championship Division I Final 27-14 Saturday at the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bulacan.

After scoring the opening kick to go up 3-0, the Sri Lankans would run past the Philippines, outscoring the home team 21-8 in the remainder of the half for a 21-11 advantage.

The Philippines looked to be slowly closing in on the margin, managing to cut the lead down to 21-14 at one point, but Sri Lanka eventually pulled away, connecting on a couple of penalty kicks to push the score to 27-14.

Sri Lanka managed to hold on for the win, claiming the ARC Division I title.
