KUALA LUMPUR --- Fencing bet Brennan Louie chipped in for the Philippines’ gold medal haul Tuesday after defeating compatriot Nathaniel Perez in the men’s foil final in the 29th Southeast Asian Games.

Louie held off Perez’s scorching comeback attempt to win by a hairline, 15-11, for the country’s sixth mint overall and third for the day.

The 2015 edition bronze medalist Perez rallied from an 11-14 deficit to tie the match at 14 before Louie scored to clinch the win.

Meanwhile, Hanniel Abella settled for a silver medal finish after falling short against a Vietnamese opponent 10-15 in women’s epee.
