MMA champ CJ de Tomas shows off his 'Agimat'
Mixed martial arts and the sneaker culture aren't always intertwined, as compared to other sports like say basketball.
However, there will always be some exceptions.
We've seen the likes of UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Danny Castillo flex on their Instagram accounts, but during a press conference last Thursday, one of our own MMA champions brought out some solid heat.
Former URCC champion and current UFC fighter CJ 'The Golden Boy' De Tomas showed up at the W1N press conference rocking some Pinoy-themed kicks, none other than the Nike LeBron 14 'Agimat'.
The Agimat 14s, as worn by PBA player Gabe Norwood.
de Tomas related Pinoy themed shoes to what he and the other Pinoy mixed martial artists are doing for the country.
When asked what his favorite part of the shoe was, it was the statement written on the insole of the shoe.
"Para Sa Kadakilaan"
Translated to english, it means "For Greatness", which is something that the 21-year old UFC fighter is all about as well.
