I have decided to graduate from the team -- Morado
Ateneo de Manila setter Jia Morado (no. 12) won't return for Season 80.
Ateneo de Manila setter Jia Morado foregoes her final year with the Lady Eagles.
The fourth year playmaker announced the shocking news after Ateneo for the second straight year fell victim to archrival De La Salle University in the UAAP Finals series Saturday.
“It was an honor to play for the Blue and White,” she said after the mass at the Church of Gesu in Ateneo.
“But after careful thinking and I've been thinking about it for a long while. I'm graduating from the Ateneo, but I've also decided to graduate from the team as well,” she added in an emotional speech. “And as much as it hurts to say, I'd like to move on, and I'm looking forward to a new chapter in my life. I know it won't be easy to understand why.”

The team captain in her last game as a Lady Eagle tallied 53 excellent sets with six points in a lost cause after the defending champions Lady Spikers’ escaped with a 19-25, 25-14, 18-25, 25-18, 15-10, win in Game 2 of the 79th UAAP women’s volleyball championship series at the Big Dome.
Morado, Season 77 Best Setter, was mum at first when asked if she’ll return for Season 80.
It took her a couple of hours - and a trip back to their Katipunan campus - to decide.
