Pascua replaces Delos Santos as FEU Lady Tams' head coach
George Pascua replaced Shaq Delos Santos as head coach of the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws.
Far Eastern University appointed George Pascua as the new head coach of the Lady Tamaraws.
The school’s athletic director Mark Molina announced Sunday that Pascua will handle the team, replacing Shaq Delos Santos, as the Lady Tamaraws prepare for the 80th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament.
"George Pascua will be the new head coach of the FEU Women's volleyball team," said Molina.
Pascua, head coach of Cignal in the Philippine Superliga, played for FEU and was the former head coach of its men’s team. He will have current men's squad mentor Rey Diaz as assistant.
Molina also said that former players Rachel Anne Daquis and Remy Palma have been invited to join the coaching staff.
Delos Santos, also an FEU product, replaced Nes Pamilar in Season 74 and brought the Lady Tamaraws to four UAAP Final Four appearances including a fourth place finish this year.
Delos Santos is currently focused in handling Petron, which won two titles under Pascua, as it prepares for the PSL's All-Filipino Conference that will open shop on Tuesday.
"That's one of the things that came up during the exit interviews," said Molina. "We're still talking but he might still be with FEU in some capacity. He's been very professional about it and he will hopefully still be part of the program. He will always be part of FEU."
