Yep, a sand court at BGC. Pretty crazy and awesome right?
BVR Founders Charo Soriano, Bea Tan, Dzi Gervacio, Fille Cainglet-Cayetano, and Gretchen Ho were on deck for the launch.
Amy Ahomiro, Mae Tajima, Amanda Villanueva, as well as former La Salle stars Michele Gumabao and Melissa Gohing were also present.
"It has been our ultimate dream to host a BVR event in BGC and having it done so soon through Aboitiz Land gives us more affirmation that we are doing the right thing for the love of beach volleyball," Tan said.
"We're very grateful that the sport is now starting to grow bigger and gain support. Getting traction like this is very good for the sport," she added.
Three exhibition games were played on the brand new sand court with Gervacio and Ella De Jesus winning a close 24-22 decision over Gumabao and Gohing for the night's best matchup.
Action continues for BVR as the crew heads to Kahuna Beach in La Union for leg 4 of the 2017 tour. Both the BVR women's and men's division will have a two-day joust starting on April 1.
