Cignal finally beats Petron to start PSL final round
The HD Spikers scored an emphatic 25-22, 18-25, 25-15, 25-19 victory over the Blaze Spikers Thursday night at the San Juan Arena.

Winning when it actually matters, Cignal just gave itself a big boost towards capturing the 2017 Philippine Super Liga Invitational Tournament by taking down previously undefeated Petron in a battle of super powers.

The HD Spikers scored an emphatic 25-22, 18-25, 25-15, 25-19 victory over the Blaze Spikers Thursday night at the San Juan Arena.

Avenging its five-set loss in the regular season, the victory allowed Cignal to zoom ahead in the final phase of the tournament where the team with the best record wins the title.

The star duo of Rachel Daquis and Jovelyn Gonzaga proved to be effective for the HD Spikers as the veteran duo were good for a combined 31 points.

In the final match of the day, Kobe Shinwa University made a powerful debut in the PSL by torching Foton in four sets to join Cignal for the early lead in the final.

The Japanese squad were pretty legit and convincing in their 25-15, 22-25, 25-18, 25-12 victory over the Tornadoes.

The final round of the PSL will continue Friday with Petron and Foton going for their first win while Cignal gets its turn in testing Kobe Shinwa.
