It appears that for one game, San Miguel rested on its "lauriat."
The now infamous mistake from Game 1 has turned into a running joke for Austria and following a Game 3 loss to the Gin Kings Tuesday in the Philippine Cup semifinals, the champion coach says that his wards might need a good serving of Chowking to get their energy back.
"Probably, para ganahan itong mga ito. Baka kulang sa protina eh," coach Leo said with a laugh.
But turning serious, Austria says that the Beermen need to have better starts against the Gin Kings as this series continues to move forward.
For the second straight game, San Miguel failed to jump on Ginebra early.
And unlike in Game 2, the Beermen failed to make a comeback in Game 3.
"It's obvious that we didn't have a good start and then they capitalized on it," Austria said.
"We're no focused. Alam naman namin na ganito mangyayari pero nanyari pa rin." he added.
Dropping a game in these playoffs should be a nice wakeup call for the Beermen.
And the champs should regain their focus come Game 4.
"We cannot always play a perfect game. It happens. I think, it's a good wake up call para sa amin," Austria said.
"I hope na marealize ng team namin kung ano iyong kailangan nilang gawin," he added.
