FEU's first win was LPU's first loss in the 2019 Filoil Preseason

Far Eastern University rode a huge wave of team effort to drown Lyceum of the Philippines University in an 86-78 decision, Monday at Filoil Flying V Centre.

Brandrey Bienes led three other teammates in double-digits with 14 points built on perfect 4-of-4 shooting from deep as the Tamaraws became the first team to put a blemish on the Pirates' record after four games in the 2019 Filoil Flying V Preseason Tournament.

Wendell Comboy, Alec Stockton, and Xyrus Torres all had 13 points of their own while new floor leader L-Jay Gonzales did it all with eight points, eight assists, and five rebounds.

FEU charged to a strong start and built up a 28-13 lead after the opening salvo which they successfully protected in the face of repeated challenges by LPU.

In the process, the Tamaraws scored their first win after back-to-back losses in the preseason tournament.

For the Pirates, Jaycee Marcelino topped the scoring column with 17 points.

Meanwhile, Colegio de San Juan de Letran bounced back with a 79-77 victory versus Emilio Aguinaldo College.

Allen Mina topped the scoring column while Larry Muyang posted a 10-marker, 11-rebound double-double as the Knights improved to 4-1.

With the loss, the Generals dropped to 1-2.
