FIBA 3x3: Gilas women advance in 3x3 World Cup after clutch day 2 performance

Gilas Pilipinas women’s 3x3 team has advanced to the next round of the 2019 FIBA 3x3 U18 World Cup in Mongolia.

After splitting its first two Pool C games Monday, Gilas women turned around and won two close games in Ulaanbaatar Thursday to move on.

The fiesty Filipinas first took down no. 6 Netherlands behind a clutch buzzer-beater from Camille Clarin, 10-9.

To end pool play, the Philippines scored another close win, this time against Czech Republic, 15-14.

The Filipinas will enter the knockout rounds with a three-game winning streak and a clash with no. 1 China is all but secured in the quarterfinals as France leads Pool C with a clean 3-0 record.

The Philippines’ only loss was to France on opening day, 2-22.
