Aris Dionisio did it all on Tuesday inside Antipolo's Ynares Center as Manila got the better of Quezon City, 86-85, in the MPBL Lakan Cup.
Versatile wing Dionisio was all over the court and wound up with 21 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and two steals in 29 tireless minutes of action.
His all-out effort, coupled with Marvin Lee and Carlo Lastimosa's hot shooting, was more than enough to lead the Stars into the win column in just their first game in the tournament.
Lee finished his MPBL debut with 17 points built on four triples while Lastimosa ended his first game for Manila with 12 markers of his own.
For the Capitals, John Tayongtong had 16 points to show the way.
Meanwhile, Makati was also triumphant in its season-opener after silencing home team Rizal, 73-51.
Joseph Sedurifa and John Rey Villanueva fronted the attack with 15 and 14 points, respectively.
Mark Benitez was the lone bright spot for the Crusaders with 13 points.
