NBA.com staff report
The Timberwolves plan to meet with restricted free agent point guard D'Angelo Russell, bringing in Karl-Anthony Towns as part of the contingent, reports Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes.
In addition, the Lakers are reportedly interested in a possible reunion with Russell, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.com
The Lakers had dealt Russell, whom they selected second overall in the 2015 NBA Draft, to the Brooklyn Nets back in the summer of 2017.
The 23-year-old Russell has been a hot name this offseason after coming off a breakout season in which he averaged 21.1 points and 7.0 assists, helping the Nets reach the postseason.
Wojnarowski adds that the Nets will renounce their qualifying offer to Russell, once they get a commitment from free agent Kyrie Irving. The team would also be willing to work to facilitate a sign-and-trade deal to help Russell land on the team of his choice.
