Colegio de San Juan de Letran is just reshuffling its deck in terms of its coaching staff.

Not long after letting go of Jeff Napa, the school is all set to name Bonnie Tan as head coach of the Knights.

A year ago, coach Bonnie served as team manager for the blue and red.

Now, he will be taking over a Letran war machine that had been rebuilt by Coach Jeff, brick by brick, in the last three years

Tan will now be overseeing the continued development of Rookie of the Year Larry Muyang, Gilas cadet Jeo Ambohot, Bonbon Batiller, Christian Fajarito, Koy Galvelo, and Fran Yu as well as transferee Jordan Sta. Ana.

Bar none, that fully loaded lineup is one of the favorites to win it all in the next NCAA season with defending champion San Beda University no longer having Robert Bolick and Javee Mocon, runner-up Lyceum of the Philippines University no longer having MJ Ayaay and CJ Perez, and playoff team University of Perpetual Help no longer having Season MVP Prince Eze.

The 44-year-old is very much familiar with Intramuros as he had called the shots for LPU from 2003 to 2014.

After resigning from his post with the Pirates, he focused on acting as team manager of NorthPort (previously GlobalPort) in the PBA.

As per sources, coach Bonnie did his best to retain Coach Jeff on the Knights’ staff as consultant, but the latter respectfully declined due to differences with the school administration.

For his part, Napa now turns his attention to his new job as assistant coach for the Batang Pier.
