For 2019, Pingris, who is set to return from an ACL tear, is hoping the Hotshots can maintain that level of desire and hunger in order to surpass their finish from a season ago.

After a banner season in which they finally broke a four-year title drought, veteran forward Marc Pingris wants his Hotshots from Magnolia to keep grinding.

In 2018, Magnolia went to the Finals twice and won one championship, the team’s first since completing the Grand Slam in 2014.

For 2019, Pingris, who is set to return from an ACL tear, is hoping the Hotshots can maintain that level of desire and hunger in order to surpass their finish from a season ago.

“Kailangan wag lumaki ulo, kailangan lagpas yung work hard dati,” Pingris told ABS-CBN Sports.

“Yun lang naman yun eh, kasi pag pinasok mo sa isip mo na magaling ka na, dun ka babagsak,” he added.

Getting the chance to see his team from afar as he recovered from his knee injury, Pingris commented on Magnolia’s chemistry that led to a strong performance in 2018.

Playing their second full season after big turnovers prior to the 2017 season, Pingris says that the Hotshots have transformed into a solid group.

They just have to keep it that way.

“Masasabi ko sa team, sobrang solid na yung samahan,” Pingris said.

“Nakita ko yung ginawa ni coach, yung foundation na binuo niya, ngayon talagang matatag na,” he added.
