Manila Clasico is always a big game regardless of where it’s placed in the PBA schedule.
And now that both Magnolia and Ginebra are trying to secure their respective playoff slots in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup, the first Clasico of the season should be intense.
The Hotshots are ready.
“Ngayon pwede ko na siguro isipin Ginebra,” head coach Chito Victolero said Wednesday after his team beat Columbian.
“We have at least three days to prepare for Ginebra. it’s going to be a good game, inaabangan talaga ng mga tao yan eh, and I think both teams are properly motivated,” he added.
After a slow start, losing their first three games, the Hotshots have turned things around and won three of their last four.
At 3-4, Magnolia is only one full game behind the Gin Kings in the standings.
“I think papunta na kami doon,” Victolero said as the Hotshots regain their form.
“Sabi ko naman sa players ko, tamang-tama lang yung peak namin, yung rhythm na nakukuha namin ngayon,” he added.
