After a sensational Manila Clasico comeback in the quarterfinals, Magnolia has been sleepwalking in the Philippine Cup semifinals against Rain or Shine.
After another lackluster effort in Game 2, the Hotshots are now down 0-2 in the best-of-7 with no clear answers in sight.
Star guard Paul Lee is officially speechless.
“I don’t know what to say,” Lee said after Sunday’s loss where they were down by as many as 25 before the final score ultimately read 93-80 for ROS.
“Sobrang frustrated ko sa the way we played, the way I played,” he added.
After a better start in the opening period this time compared to Game 1, the Hotshots fell apart in the middle quarters and the Elasto Painters took a 73-57 lead with 12 minutes to go.
For good measure, ROS used another strong rally to start the fourth to build an 84-59 advantage and the game was reduced to garbage time the rest of the way.
As they search for solutions, Lee says it’s important for the Hotshots to not panic and go after the root of their problems.
“Kailngan mag-gather muna kaming lahat, regroup kami,” he said.
“Pag-usapan naming maigi kung ano naging problema namin. Yung naman yung importante dun,” he added.
