PBA Finals: SMB has to match Magnolia’s intensity in Game 7 says Standhardinger

“We just gotta keep going. We’re gonna keep going hard,” Standhardinger said on Game 7.

If you think Game 7 of the Finals brings overwhelming pressure, well you’re right it does. Everything you worked for comes down to one game.

Win and everything is incredible. Lose and well, that’s just devastating.

The best teams usually don’t allow themselves to succumb under such pressure and that’s what San Miguel Beer plans on doing Wednesday when the four-time champion Beermen put their PBA Philippine Cup dynasty on the line against challenger Magnolia for Game 7.

“There’s a lot of pressure but you can’t think about that,” forward Christian Standhardinger said.

“I’m thinking about I’m letting it all out and my teammates do the same. We just have to make sure that we go all out and I hope that will be enough because Magnolia is a tremendous team,” he added.

Despite its overwhelming talent and advantage, San Miguel has not led in these Philippine Cup Finals at all.

If the Beermen were to take the lead, they win the whole thing by taking Game 7.

For the decisive showdown, Standhardinger is just focused on playing SMB basketball and keeping that energy up.

“We just gotta keep going. We’re gonna keep going hard,” Standhardinger said on Game 7.

“We just need to counteract their [Magnolia] intensity and their coaching,” he added.
