For the second time this season, Northport has started a conference with a 2-0 mark.
Following a win against NLEX Saturday, the Batang Pier are 2-0 in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
Of course, they had the same record in the All-Filipino and then went on to lose six straight games. They ended up missing the playoffs.
Northport wants to avoid that this time around.
“We just gotta figure out how to keep winning as a team,” forward Sean Anthony said.
“Games don’t get easier. We got TNT and then all three San Miguel teams. So it’s gonna be a big stretch for us coming up. We gotta buckle down and just keep getting better,” he added.
Against NLEX, Northport had to scramble late just to pick up a win.
The Road Warriors were without an import and the Batang Pier were still without star guard Stanley Pringle.
“It’s a big win anytime you’re missing your best player and your team can pull off wins,” Anthony said.
