The Hotshots just endured what might as well be their most grueling stretch in the elimination round of the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
Just this week alone, Magnolia played Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday for a full set of games. The Hotshots finished 2-1 to push their record in the conference to an even 2-2.
“Yung one week namin, three games grabe. Dikitan,” said guard Jio Jalalon.
“Para kaming nasa semis eh,” he added.
Following Wednesday’s loss to Northport, the Hotshots were 0-2 for the Commissioner’s Cup and desperately needed wins to stay afloat. The Hotshots got not just one, but two wins to close the week out.
Against the Dyip Sunday in particular, Jalalon was all over the court, finishing with 17 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, and two steals.
“Kailangan namin talaga ng panalo para maka-rest din kami,” Jalalon said.
“Mahirap kami pag talo, masama yung matatalo ka then pangit yung pahinga. So ngayon, nakuha namin yung panalo, makapag-pahinga kami ng maayos,” he added.
