Safe to say, former Best Import Charles Rhodes didn’t have the best of nights Sunday in the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
Rhodes fouled out against Ginebra, leaving San Miguel vulnerable at the hands of the defending champion Gin Kings.
True enough, the Beermen lost to Ginebra in overtime.
Rhodes finished with 34 points and 12 rebounds. For his six fouls, Rhodes admits to committing two for sure but for the rest of them, he’s just dumbfounded.
“It’s just crazy you know. I get six fouls, all six were offensive fouls. I know I committed two when I was trying to get position on Brownlee, one on the offensive rebound,” Rhodes said.
“The other four, especially the last call, I didn’t even move,” he added.
Rhodes is naturally disappointed but understands everything is part of the game.
He’s more concerned about letting his team down during a crucial game and he’s eager to bounce back for next time.
“It's just disappointing but what can you do? That's how the cookie crumbles sometimes. I just can't give them a chance to make that call. I just gotta be more smarter,” Rhodes said.
“We just gotta go back to the drawing board. I'm just sorry to my teammates and my coaches, like, I just feel like I let them down so I'm really hurt about that,” he added.
