Despite losing to Northport Wednesday, the Road Warriors retain first place in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup.
The league’s top-ranked team also received a boost in time of the playoffs as Kevin Alas has made it back from ACL injury.
Alas played only seven minutes and scored zero points in the loss but it’s his first game back since early in the Philippine Cup when he suffered a second ACL injury in as many years.
“We’re happy to have him,” guard Kiefer Ravena said as NLEX’s K&K tandem is complete again with Alas’ return.
“He’s another weapon we can use in in the playoffs,” Ravena added.
Coming back from ACL injury is hard enough. Coming back from a second injury has to be harder.
NLEX will not rush Alas back but having him available for the playoffs is a big thing no doubt.
“He’s going to be fresh. Hindi pa siya nakikita maglaro ng iba for quite some time so hopefully we can use that to our advantage,” Ravena said of Alas.
“It’s going to take some time, kahit si Kevin mismo aminado na medyo ano pa siya. Pero I’m sure Kevin’s going to improve slowly, gradually, and after this game, maganda na yung ipapakita talaga ni Kevin,” Kiefer added.
