Veteran hitter Myla Pablo will miss Motolite’s match on Sunday against league-leading PetroGazz as a precautionary measure for her sore back.
“Myla has been dealing with a back injury for a few weeks now,’ said head coach Air Padda.
Pablo sat out Motolite’s 21-25, 21-25, 25-23, 21-25, debut loss to PacificTown Army on Saturday in the first of their back-to-back weekend schedule in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Reinforced Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
“We’re just trying to maintain it and handle it the best that we can. The doctors say though, she should be back next weekend to play,” said Padda.
The open spiker has been dealing with back problems for the past two years. Pablo said that she felt that she pulled a muscle on her right lower back and that there’s pain whenever she tries to bend.
“Actually yung back ko uli,” said the two time conference Most Valuable Player. “Siguro nabigla lang ‘yung back ko kasi May 10 kami nagsimula ng training so mga two weeks pa lang ako nakaka-practice siguro so nabigla ‘yung back ko.”
Pablo added that team therapists advised her to limit her drills on practice.
“Pwede naman ako magbola-bola pero wala muna ‘yung mga roll, ‘yung mga dive kasi mahirap daw kasi ‘pag nabigla lalong lalala,” she said.
Pablo could also miss Motolite’s game on Wednesday against BanKo Perlas. Her earliest return, according to Padda could be on Saturday in a showdown with defending champion Creamline.
“We’re looking forward to that but we’re just trying to deal with it the best that we can,” said Padda.
