Thai import Kuttika Kaewpin dropped 27 points in Creamline's second straight win.

Thai import Kuttika Kaewpin feasted on offense especially at the service line as reigning champion Creamline recovered from a set down to take down BanKo, 23-25, 25-12, 25-17, 25-23, on Sunday in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Reinforced Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Kaewpin punished the Perlas Spikers’ service reception with nine aces including four in the pivotal second set that turned the tables around for the Cool Smashers, who won their second straight match after a conference opener loss to tie PacificTown Army with identical 2-1 win-loss slates behind unbeaten PetroGazz (3-0).

Kaewpin finished with 27 points with 18 coming off attacks. She added 15 excellent receptions and had eight digs for Creamline, which landed a total of 13 aces and pounded away 55 spikes.

The Cool Smashers started out flat but got their rhythm going in the second frame with Kaewpin nailing consecutive aces in Creamline’s run that opened a 22-11 lead.

“Siguro kaya rin kami natalo sa first set ay dahil sa sarili naming lapses. Going into this game we prepared na, kasi gusto naming ibalik yung dating Creamline na nag-champion,” said Creamline assistant coach Ed Ortega. “And I think yung naging advantage namin kaya namin nakuha ang back-to-back championships ay because sa service namin and receives namin.”

Alyssa Valdez added 19 points built on 15 kills, three kill blocks and an ace with eight receives while Venezuelan Ale Blanco and Risa Sato scored 10 and eight markers, respectively, for Creamline.

BanKo suffered its second loss in three games at solo third spot.

American Kia Bright finished with 19 points and 11 receives while Nicole Tiamzon and Dzi Gervacio chipped in with 12 and 11 markers, respectively, for the Perlas Spikers.

Kathy Bersola had nine points while Turkish import Yasemin Yildirim was limited to only three markers for BanKo, which finished their back-to-back weekend schedule with a win and a loss.
