University of Sto. Tomas saw its darkest year in men’s basketball with a humiliating season.
A 1-13 record to be exact.
The Tigresses won’t let the Espana-based squad suffer the same embarrassment in their campaign in the UAAP Season 80 women’s volleyball tournament.
Top hitter Cherry "Sisi" Rondina knows that the UST community is hungry for redemption. Famished to get a chance to erase the excruciating pain of seeing the Tigers drop game after game in the centerpiece event.
“Siyempre pressure kasi parang ang pangit na parang aasa sila sa amin,” said the fourth year open spiker.
Though the men’s basketball team received tons of criticism for its disappointing showing, Rondina is quick to defend her fellow student-athletes saying that they gave their all for the school despite their dismal performance.
“Nakita namin sila na nilaban ang UST siyempre di rin kami magdadalawang-isip na ipakita sa kanila na kung nilaban nila what more kami,” she said.
Being a proud UST student-athlete, Rondina vowed to give everything to protect their school’s pride.
