Ateneo Lady Eagle Jho Maraguinot says that she could have done a better performance after her team was swept by arch-rival De La Salle, sending the girls from Katipunan to a twice-to-beat disadvantage for the first time since Season 76.
Maraguinot, who finished with six points, was not a fan of her own showing, as her team was left helpless under the merciless La Salle attack, which finished at the top of the league standings at the conclusion of the eliminations.
"Syempre I'm disappointed lalo na sa sarili ko. Cause I know I could do better. But kinulang eh. I think I just have to accept it. Bawi nalang next game," the fourth-year player said.
As they face second-seed FEU, who holds the twice-to-beat advantage, the Alitagtag, Batangas native seems to be doubting herself for the win-or-go-home scenario on Saturday, and added that she'll do everything to forget such a disheartening performance and subsequent loss Sunday afternoon.
"Tomorrow is a new day. Bounce back na lang. It all starts with ourselves naman eh. Siguro confidence sa sarili. Para maging confident din kami na magperform for the team."
In spite of the loss, the hitter managed to praise her opponents, and lamented the unfortunate results for their side, and gave all credit to them.
"Nag-uusap naman kami. Siguro bad day lang talaga. Hindi siguro obvious but naguusap naman kami sa loob eh. Every point naman, tinutulungan namin ang isa't isa. Siguro La Salle played better lang today. "
