Without a doubt, Kat Tolentino has been a dominant scorer in the UAAP 81 Women's Volleyball Tournament.
Scoring 15.09 points through the first 10 games, she is right up there as one of the league's most dangerous hitters.
Only, after her most recent showing up against De La Salle University, the Ateneo de Manila spiker knows full well she can still do better.
Indeed, Tolentino only had six points in her team's straight sets loss to their archrivals, Saturday at Araneta Coliseum.
For that, the 6-foot-2 spiker gave credit where credit is due - the Lady Spikers' game plan. "La Salle was prepared and really went all-out. For us, we were really a bit complacent," she told reporters post-game.
She then continued, "I know for me, I didn't contribute the way that I should."
That is exactly why Tolentino only vows to bounce back and go back to the standards she has set for herself. "This will only be a learning process for us. This will be motivation for us. We'll bounce back," she said.
And even after the shocking decision, the Filipino-Canadian volleybelle made it a point to say that she and the rest of her teammates still have their sights set on the overall top-seed for the Final Four. Asked about their mindset for their remaining two assignments, she answered, "To still go all out. We still want that first-place and we can still get it."
She then continued, "We're not gonna change anything. We're gonna keep practicing right because that's really where the wins come from."
