Far Eastern University looks to settle unfinished business on Saturday when the twice-to-beat Tamaraws take on Ateneo de Manila University in the UAAP Season 81 men’s volleyball Final Four at the MOA Arena.
Game time is at 2:00 p.m. and will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183, iWant and via livestream.
The Tamaraws finished the elimination round at the second spot to secure a semis advantage against the same team that booted them out of the Final Four last year.
FEU also held the semis incentive in Season 80 but the then Marck Espejo-led Blue Eagles pulled off a miraculous escape, beating the Tams twice to advance in the championship round.
The Morayta-based squad hopes to finish off Ateneo this time and book a return trip to the Finals for the first time in six seasons. The Tams will bank on Richard Solis, Redijohn Paler, Jude Garcia, JP Bugaoan and setter Owen Suarez.
On the other hand, the Blue Eagles will try to make a repeat of their feat last year behind Tony Koyfman, Ron Medalla, John Rivera, Chumason Njigha and Lawrence Magadia.
Both teams split their elims head-to-head. Ateneo is coming off a straight sets win over Adamson University while FEU is reeling from a loss to defending champion National University to close the elims.
If, needed, the winner-take-all match is on Wednesday.
The winner of the semis pairing will take on either the Falcons or the Bulldogs in the best-of-three Finals.
