De La Salle University landed a gem in Fil-American hitter Jade Fuentes.
The 5-foot-11 open spiker from Los Angeles, California announced her commitment to the Taft-based squad on Tuesday on social media that got the green and white faithful excited.
Fuentes played for the 2019 Eagle Rock Girls Volleyball Championship Team and the CIF L.A. City Section Open Division Most Valuable Player.
Coming out of high school, the 17-year old recruit is expected to play for the Lady Spikers next UAAP season.
Fuentes is a great addition for DLSU, which will have an even deeper arsenal together with veteran Jolina dela Cruz and young stars Leila Cruz and Thea Gagate.
The UAAP cancelled Season 82 last week after the government extended the enhanced community quarantine to April 30 amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Middle Aduke Ogunsanya, winger Tin Tiamzon and libero CJ Saga might still get a chance to have an extended playing year pending the decision of the UAAP in the case of seniors whose swan songs were cut short because of the cancellation.
