Two-time defending champions, Ateneo Blue Batters are still waiting for their opponent in the Finals of the UAAP Season 77 Baseball tournament.
Ateneo de Manila University lost its second straight game in the UAAP Season 77 Baseball tournament as it yielded to the University of Sto. Tomas, 7-1 in their second round meeting on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.
However, these losses will not affect the Blue Batters’ return to the Finals as they had already secured their return trip there by winning their first seven games of the tournament.
On the other hand, the Growling Tigers won only their third win of the season against six defeats.
In the second game, National University needed two extra innings to dispose of Adamson University. The final tally was 7-6 in favor of the Bulldogs who won their fourth game in nine outings.
Remaining at the bottom of the standings are the Falcons, whose record dropped to 2-7.
The final game of the day between De La Salle University and the University of the Philippines was halted in the fifth inning due to insufficient lighting at the playing venue. At the time of the postponement, the Fighting Maroons were leading, 4-3.
