Fajardo favorite to raise BPC trophy on Sunday
BEST PLAYER. Along with a chance to get a second out of three titles this season, June Mar Fajardo is also the leading contender for Best Player of the Conference.
While his San Miguel will be gearing up for the second game of the 2015 PBA Governor’s Cup Finals this coming Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum, June Mar Fajardo will also be preparing to hoist his third Best Player of the Conference trophy.
The Beermen’s franchise player leads all contenders for the award with 36.2 statistical points (SPs) built upon averaging a double-double of 17.8 points and 11.6 rebounds. Fajardo also powered his team to their second championship round of the season.
Trailing the top player is Globalport’s Terrence Romeo with 32.9 SPs while Ginebra’s Japeth Aguilar is third with 30.6 SPs.
Meanwhile, Romeo’s teammate Jarrid Famous leads the statistical race for Best Import with 56.1 SPs after norming 30.2 points, 23 rebounds, and two blocks. Barako Bull’s Liam McMorrow and Rain or Shine’s Wendell McKines follow with 53.2 and 52.4 SPs, respectively.
Fajardo and San Miguel begin their best-of-seven championship battle with Alaska on Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
