"Fully committed kami sa kanya. Basta kami, committed sa kanya and siya committed sa amin." --- RDO on coach Nash.
Technically, Nash Racela is TNT's new head coach, however, he's been with the team for the longest time now which makes the transition a little bit easier for the KaTropa.
Granted, TNT hasn't stormed out of the gate in the Philippine Cup, managing a 3-2 record so far, but Racela believes his team is getting there, especially once the veteran KaTropa fully embrace their new coach's philosophy of playing the right way.
"Consistency, gusto niya consistent, kung ano mangyari lamang o hindi," Ranidel De Ocampo said.
"Then mai-apply sa susunod na laro para maging habit, iniisip namin paano maging consistent kahit alam na naming panalo na, tuloy pa rin effort," he added.
Up by as much as 28 in the fourth quarter against the Phoenix Fuel Masters on Friday, Racela wasn't going to let his team to let up, huddling his squad to remind them to keep their foor on the gas pedal.
TNT eventually settled for a 19-point win.
"We even huddled the team and reminded them that we are looking for consistency. Even when you are up 25, laruin natin ng tama, diinan pa rin natin. It starts with awareness, then knowing tapos ang next step is really executing it," Racela said.
Racela's search for consistency in TNT ultimately boils down to committment on the part of the KaTropa.
With the team's core winning championships under three different head coaches in the past half decade, TNT has no problem giving that effort to their sort of new mentor.
"Kilala na namin siya, kilala niya kami," De Ocampo said of coach Nash. "Fully committed kami sa kanya. Basta kami, committed sa kanya and siya committed sa amin."
