While the weather starts to get cold with Christmas fast approaching, action in the 2017 Philippine Cup is just about to heat up as we near the halfway point of the PBA's most prestigious tournament.

Barely a week after facing former star Paul Lee, Rain or Shine takes the court for the first time opposite former head coach Yeng Guiao as the Elasto Painters battle with the struggling NLEX Road Warriors Friday at the PhilSports Arena.

Losing to the Hotshots in an emotional decision last Sunday, ROS looks to avoid going 0-2 to their former team members and resumre their winning ways in the All-Filipino Conference. The Elasto Painters currently stand at 3-2.

On the other side, Guiao has not seen a smooth transition to NLEX with the Road Warriors losing four games in a row, all by double digits.

Only winless Mahindra has a worse record than NLEX right now.

Tipoff is scheduled at 7:00 p.m.

In the first game, the surging Aces go head-to-head against a rejuvenated TNT side as both teams go for a share of second in the team standings.

Following two straight defeats, Alaska has now won three in a row including a trashing of Ginebra in its last outing. TNT meanwhile finally got the Nash Racela era going with an impressive win over Blackwater. Gametime is at 4:15 p.m.
