STEP UP. Troy Rosario is only benefiting from all the time alongside Jayson Castro and Ranidel de Ocampo.
Troy Rosario tallied a season-high 26 points to shoot TNT to a share of second in the standings last Friday.
Of course, true to form, he said he’s just harvesting the fruits of all the work he has put into this shooting stroke. “Pina-practice ko naman talaga mga yun,” he expressed after making good on six triples – meaning, all but eight of his points came from long distance.
Also true to form, the 24-year-old got all of it within the system ran by the KaTropa. “Yun yung system namin. Pag open naman ako, may lisensya naman akong itira,” he said.
More than that, however, the Rookie of the Year runner-up is being motivated by a simple matter of fact – he’s playing alongside two surefire hall of famers and the faces of the franchise. “Kapag kasabay mo sila kuya Jayson (Castro) and kuya Ranidel (de Ocampo), dapat lahat ng ginagawa nila, alam mo,” he shared.
He then continued, “Magaling na kasi silang bumasa at matagal na talaga sa liga. Alam na nila (kung anong dapat gawin).”
Looking up to Castro and de Ocampo extends far beyond games especially for young Rosario. “Sa practice, tinitignan ko yung mga ginagawa nila. Doon nag-iimprove lalo laro ko,” he said.
