Pingris kept Christmas spirit despite Manila Clasico bummer
Marc Pingris to Ginebra coach Tim Cone after Manila Clasico: "Coach Tim Merry Christmas, I love you!"

Despite losing yet another Christmas Clasico to Ginebra, veteran Star forward Marc Pingris still found a way to keep the mood light.

Making sense of their sorry defeat to the Gin Kings Sunday at the Philippine Arena, Pingris merey pointed to the fact that only one team could have a Merrier Christmas.

Speaking of Christmas, it was Noche Buena just less than 24 hours prior to game time so Ping wasn't entirely sure which of his Star teammates came to Bulacan completely focused.

"Maganda naman talaga yung laban. May nanalo at may natatalo pero kailangan mag-adjust at hindi kami ma-stuck," Pingris said.

"Marami rin kaming mali, baka nanggigil lang talaga. And then, ang daming distraction kagabi. Hindi natin alam kung sino puyat," he said before adding a quick "joke lang!"

With yet another matchup against Ginebra, it meant that the Hotshots once again went face-to-face with former mentor Tim Cone.

And as Cone was making his exit at the massive Iglesia ni Cristo-owned facility, Ping didn't fail to greet his former coach.

"Coach Tim Merry Christmas," Pingris shouted to Cone. "I love you!"

Nothing like some good old Christmas spirit to keep the mood up.
