'Twas a perfect Christmas for Japeth Aguilar

In more ways than one, it was basically a Merry Christmas for Japeth Aguilar.
It was truly a Merry Christmas for Japeth Aguilar as the towering Ginebra forward not only enjoyed a great Noche Buena but also had himself a career game in another Manila Clasico victory Sunday at the Philippine Arena.
Scoring a career-high 32 points on a perfect 5-of-5 shooting from beyond the arc, Japeth was at the forefront of the Gin Kings'charge against the Star Hotshots that eventually led to an 86-79 victory.
Despite exploding on offense, Aguilar was actually tasked to anchor Ginebra's defense against Star. But with him going off on the other end, it still turned out great for the Gin Kings.
"I was surprised, pati sa offensive performance ko. Kasi my focus talaga to be honest was on defense because coach Tim wanted na sakin manggaling," Aguilar said.
While not entirely his focus, Aguilar does cherish his offensive output which he says is something that he will remember for quite some time.
It's a special moment talaga in my career kasi sooner or later I'm gonna look back in this game and say I'm part of this game. One of the greatest rivalries in the PBA. I really give credit to the Lord," Japeth expressed.
Making the day doubly special was the special meal Aguilar had some hours earlier.
"Actually the traditional hamon, keso de bola, spaghetti, ube," Japeth said of his Noche Buena. "Dami ko nga nakain actually."
