"Gigil ako eh. Hindi ako ready sa pagpasok ko, nanggigil ako bigla." --- Jio Jalalon.
Laying an egg in his first Manila Clasico, Star rookie Jio Jalalon was admittedly not ready during the Christmas Day showdown against Ginebra at the Philippine Arena.
"Gigil ako eh. Hindi ako ready sa pagpasok ko, nanggigil ako bigla," the former Arellano Chief said following the Hotshots' 79-86 defeat to the Gin Kings.
Jalalon ended up missing all his 10 shots for zero points although he did grab six rebounds and dished out five dimes.
To make matters a little worse, his college rival Scottie Thompson made a lasting impact for Ginebra, going for five points, a career-high 17 rebounds, and seven assists.
Aside from being overeager, Jalalon also added that pressure got to thim a little bit in the PBA's most famous rivalry.
But with his first stint under the bright lights of Manila Clasico out of the way, the highly-touted recruit has nothing but growth and experience under his belt.
"Sabi niya lang sa akin [head coach Chito Victolero], ngayon alam mo na,'" Jalalon revealed.
"Lesson learned talaga ito sa akin kaya naging excited ako masyado. Yun ang natutunan ko," he added.
