Franz Pumaren is currently in Europe for a business trip, causing him to miss Globalport's final PBA game for 2016.
With Globalport Batang Pier suffering a 26-point collapse at the hands of Phoenix Wednesday in the Philippine Cup, one key figure was noticeably absent at the bench of the PBA's lone neon green team.
Head coach Franz Pumaren was nowhere to be found at the Cuneta Astrodome as Globalport played its final game this year, a 99-101 loss to the Fuel Masters.
Per team insiders via Jerome Lagunzad of Fox Sports, Pumaren, who also handles the Adamson Soaring Falcons in the UAAP, is in Europe for a business trip.
The said trip was apparently scheduled even before Pumaren was signed by the Batang Pier.
Pumaren is expected to be back to call the shots for Terrence Romeo and co. as the Batang Pier open 2017 against Meralco on Jan. 6 at the MOA Arena.
